Dr. David A. Bray, Jr. is one of only a few surgeons in the nation and the only surgeon in the South Bay certified by all of the three following boards: The American Board of Plastic Surgery, The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and The American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He is also an active member of the prestigious Rhinoplasty Society.

Dr. David A. Bray, Jr. completed his plastic surgery residency at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. During his residency Dr. Bray, Jr. trained with internationally renowned aesthetic plastic surgeons at St. Joseph Hospital. In addition, he trained at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center performing cancer reconstructive surgery. He was at the top of his plastic surgery class scoring in the top 1% in the nation on the 2005 plastic surgery in-service exam.

A native of the South Bay, Dr. Bray, Jr. was raised on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and attended Chadwick School. He received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University, and then he attended the Medical College of Virginia for his medical degree. Plastic surgeon, Dr. Bray, Jr. completed a five year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Maryland before going on to his plastic surgery residency.

Dr. Bray, Jr. has trained in the most advanced and latest techniques in aesthetic plastic surgery, including endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. He has been involved in innovative research, and he has written and presented papers on the use of gene therapy as a treatment for head and neck cancer. Additionally, Dr. Bray, Jr. has an interest in minimizing pain after surgery.

He has done research on pain control after abdominoplasty and has presented these findings at national meetings.

In Dr. Bray, Jr.’s private practice, he performs and reconstructive plastic surgery. Dr. Bray Jr. also serves as a clinical faculty member with the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Harbor/UCLA.
